Food is a human right! Starting now and continuing for the foreseeable future, our salon is accepting non-perishable food items during business hours to support our neighbors in the wake of the looming cut to SNAP benefits on November 1st.
Why it Matters! In Illinois alone, nearly 1.9 million people could lose access to SNAP if the federal shutdown continues. Nationwide about 42 million people depend on SNAP for basic groceries – a lifeline for families, kids, older adults and those with disabilities.
How you can help! Drop off non perishable foods (canned goods, dry beans, pasta, cereal, oats, baby food etc…) any time during business hours. We’ll deliver the donations to the community fridge of Greenview & Division St
You can directly donate to the fridge yourself and include refrigerated items like vegetables, fruit, cheese, etc… – NOTE the salon is only taking non perishable items for donations. Together we can help fill the gap, lift the burden, and show up for the community when so many will be facing an unexpected food cliff. Thank you for your generosity and love always – the Bang! salon team.
